Mental
Capacity Act 2005 and Advance Care Planning
The
Mental Capacity Act (2005) came into effect from April 2007. Many people
will be directly affected by the provisions of the Act. If you own, manage
or work in a care home for older people, can you answer ‘yes’ to
the following questions?
- Do
you know how to test for mental capacity?
- Do
you when you must involve an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate?
- Do
you know the difference between an ‘advance statement’ and
an ‘advance decision’?
If
you answered ’no’ to any of these questions, then the SHARP
course will help. In
response to demand from those unable to attend our course in in May,
